Luang Prabang, the name means “ Royal Holy Image” was established by Fa Ngum in 1353 was the first Lao Kingdom and the capital rewith its gleaming temple foots and crumbling French architecture
It is the ancient capital city of Lane Xang Kingdom (sometimes translated as Land of a Million Elephants).

Xieng Khouang

Xieng khouang province is one of Laos’ three ancient kingdoms, rich in history and extraordinary natural beauty. While much of Xiengkhouang’s cultural heritage was destroyed during the Indochina war, the province still boasts archaeological wonders and great historical interest. From an aircraft, you will observe how large the province is with its vast plateau.
Phonsaly
Phongsaly is located in the most northern tip of Lao, enclosed three sides by China and Vietnam and cut off to overland travel from Oudomxay to the South. It consists of six districts: Phongsaly, Muangmai, Muangkhua, Samphan, Sombounxay and YotOu.
More than twenty ethnicities make up the province's population of approximately 153,400, among them Iko, Loma, Akha, Pusang, Tai Dam, Tai Deng, Yao, Tai Lu, Khamou, Phai, Solo; La Hoy etc. All retain distict cultures, languages and religious beliefs, though their most obvious difference is their dress of the women of each tribe. Handicraft skill-notably in weaving, embroidery and making silver jewelry are also well developed.
Khammouan

The central province of Khammouan is located in the middle between Borikhamsay at the north and Savannakhet at the south. Khammouan province also shared a border with Vietnam at the east and Nakhon Phanom, Thailand to the west.
Champassak

Champassak has a population of about 572,000 including lowland Lao, Khmers and many unique ethnic minority groups. The province is also famous for the production of Lao coffee, tea, rattan and other agricultural produce.
Bokeo

The northern province of Bokeo is located along the three-border intersection of Laos, Myanmar and Thailand, from part of the GoldenTriangle. It is a home to a large number of minorities. Bokeo consists with five districts namely: Houaixay, Tonpheung, Pha-Oudom, Meung and Park Beng.
Saravane

Saravane situated on the Bolavens Plateau in the Southern part of Lao PDR. Just 2 hours by bus. A prehistoric site exists not far from cascades where you can see that with in a cavern seven very large stone caskets piled one on top of the other, provided not only beauty but also many interesting thoughts as to how it originated. It is called “ the man with the seven elbows”.

Oudomsay province is truly a crossroad province, located right in the heart of Northern Laos. Oudomsay shares border with Luang Prabang province to the east, Phongsali province to the northeast, Luang Namtha province to the northwest and Saiyabury province to the south

Borikhamsay

Borikhamsay province make up the narrow central corridor of Laos, and are home to a diverse population of lowland Lao and ethnic minorities like Phuan, Tri and Hmong.
It is located in the central Laos in the narrow “neck” with moderately high mountains sloping south west into the Mekong River valley.
Savannakhet

Savannakhet is the second largest town on the Mekong river bank where shares the borders with Vietnam and Thailand. It is also an important center for the flourishing trade between Thailand and Vietnam.

Sayaboury is one of the seven northern provinces of Lao PD. It has a long history dating back 550 years, having been established in 1450 A.D, according to archaeological research in to the main edifice of Sibounheuang temple (where the Great Buddha is located).

Houaphanh province , a mysterious, beautiful and abundant land, is situated in the North East of Laos, bordered by Xieng Khuang and Luang Prabang to the west and Vietnam to the East.
It was the base of the Lao People’s Revolutionary activities and especially the historic interest as the geographical heart of the liberation struggle.
